Brownfields Initiative

The Chittenden County Brownfields Initiative is a free, voluntary technical assistance program that assists property owners and prospective developers to address environmental contamination issues. The Chittenden County Brownfields Initiative is a program of the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, and is funded by Brownfields Assessment Grants from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
The goal of the Chittenden County Brownfields Initiative is to help properties that are vacant or underutilized because of potential petroleum contamination get put to productive use again. To accomplish this goal, we are:
