Amtrak Extension Project
Work to extend Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express route to Burlington’s Union Station has closed College Street to vehicular through traffic at the intersection with the railroad tracks. The road will reopen the week of September 20. Pedestrians and bicyclists are urged to use the designated detour for the bike path to avoid traveling through the work zone. Shelburne Street Roundabout
Lane closures, one-way traffic, road closure
Work to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Route 7 and St. Paul Street will cause lane closures and one-way traffic going eastbound on Locust Street from 630am-530pm during the week. Gove Court will also be closed to vehicular through traffic for non-residents during working hours. On Tuesday, September 21, Shelburne Street (southbound) will be reduced to one lane to the intersection with Prospect Parkway. Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention to the signage while traveling through the area. This project should be completed by summer 2023. Lane shifts, minimal delays, and westbound on-ramp of VT 289 closure
Culvert replacement work at the intersection of Route 117 and VT 289 will cause minimal delays, and has closed the westbound on-ramp for VT 289. Motorists must use the VT 289 eastbound on-ramp instead. The speed limit has been reduced to 30mph within the construction zone, and motorists are urged to slow down while traveling through the area. Night-time road construction on the I-189 westbound ramps at the intersection with Route 7 and on Route 7 near Buffalo Wild Wings and the Gateway Shopping Center will cause lane closures Sunday through Thursday this week. Motorists are advised to lower speeds and use caution when approaching the off-ramp. Traffic control will be present, and work hours are from 7pm-6am. This project should be completed by the fall. Periodic Lane Shifts
Waterline work at the intersection of Industrial Ave and VT Route 2 and additional work within the area will cause lane shifts and extended delays during peak commuting hours throughout the week. Vehicular access to all businesses in the area will remain. Motorists on US Route 2 should plan for extra travel time, and traffic control will be present. A bridge replacement over Muddy Brook connecting Williston and South Burlington has closed Kimball/Marshall Aves to all through traffic. Detour signs will be in place. Alternating one-way travel over the bridge is expected to start in late November, and this project should be completed by spring 2022.

Concrete repair work
Concrete repair work on Route 7 just after the Winooski River bridge extending north to the intersection with West Allen Street, and on West Allen between Route 15 and Follett Street will reduce traffic to one lane from 7pm-6am during the week.
