The CCRPC provides a weekly Traffic Alert email service, the source for all roadway and construction work in Chittenden County.

    Road closure

    Work to upgrade St. Paul Street has CLOSED it to all traffic between Main and King Streets and King and Maple Streets through August. It is open to pedestrians and all businesses remain open.     Pine Street is reduced to one lane southbound only between Flynn and Home Avenue for paving through August. Traffic is detoured.

    Occasional one lane travel

    Motorists should be aware of bike path installation on West Lakeshore Drive between Prim and Church Roads. Two-way traffic will be maintained with occasional single lane travel. This project should be completed by September 1.

    Bay Road may be reduced to one lane south of the Interstate 89 bridge for work on the interstate. Traffic control will be present.

    Road construction on Hercules Drive east of Route 7 will result in one lane travel and traffic delays through August 30.

    Water line work

    Occasional lane closures

    Water line work on the west side of Route 7 from approximately Sunny Hollow Quick Stop to the Blakley Road/Severance Road intersection continues through mid-November. The majority of the work will happen off the edge of the roadway, but if a lane reduction is necessary, minor delays can be expected.

    Susie Wilson and Kellogg Road

    Night-time paving of the intersection of Kellogg Road and Susie Wilson Road will occur on Monday, August 19 through Friday, August 23 from 7pm to 6am, causing lane closures and traffic delays.

  • Essex/Jericho/ Richmond

    Route 117

    June 18, 2018 to October 11, 2019

    Route 117 Rehabilitation Project

    Traffic delays, alternating one lane travel

    On Monday and Tuesday from 7am to 6pm, there will be shoulder clean up and ditch work on Route 117 from where the state highway begins in Essex to the intersection with Route 2 in Richmond. On Thursday and Friday between 7:30am and 6:30pm, traffic signal installation at the VT-289 off ramp will cause lane closures and traffic delays. Traffic control will be present.     Traffic delays, lane closures

    Work to repave Route 15 between the Essex Junction Village/Town line to North Underhill Station Road in Underhill this week includes shoulder and ditch work work between Saxon Hill Road and the Essex Junction/Essex Town line Sunday through Thursday from 7pm until 6am. Daytime work will include apron paving and shoulder work from North Underhill Station Road to Brown Trace Road between 5:30am and 6pm. Traffic control will be present allowing for one lane alternating travel. Motorists should plan for extended delays during peak hours, most mornings and late afternoons.

    Between Exits 10 and 11

    May 6, 2019 to September 27, 2019

    Lane closures, delays

    Night-time work on Sunday through Thursday continues with paving at Exit 10 ramps and on the northbound lanes and proceeding north. Motorists should be aware of other work being performed in that area and expect minimal traffic delays. This project will be completed by September 27.

  • Interstate 89

    Between Exits 16 and 17

    April 24, 2019 to October 14, 2019

    Colchester Bridges project

    Lane closures

    Work on the Colchester I-89 Bridges project will reduce travel to one lane in the non-peak hours from Sunday through Friday between 7am and 7pm facilitated by crossover traffic patterns. Starting Wednesday, August 21 at 7pm through Friday, August 23, I-89 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7pm and 6am. Delays are expected.     Water main work on Lake Road from the intersection of Lake Road and Route 7 to the intersection of Lake Road and Manley Road will reduce travel to one lane through September 30.

    Replacement of East Road Bridges No. 5 and 6 will close sections of the road and detour traffic through September 30.

    One lane travel

    Intersection road work on Route 7 from Chrisemily Lane to Landfill Road (Southern Gateway) may cause one lane travel and minor delays through December 31.

    Route 116/Old Farm Rd/Tilley Drive

    August 19, 2019 to November 15, 2019

    Intersection project

    Occasional lane reductions

    On Monday, August 19, work begins on the intersection project on VT 116 with Tilley Drive and Old Farm Road and will last until mid-November. Occasional lane reductions are expected, causing traffic delays. Traffic control will be present.

    On Sunday, August 18 between 6am and noon, utility work will detour northbound Dorset Street traffic at the intersection of San Remo Drive onto San Remo Drive.

    Motorists should be aware of workers on Route 2 between Boxwood Lane and the North Williston Road/Oak Hill Road intersection, causing minimal impact on travel.

    Safety Improvement Project

    Pedestrian detour

    Motorists should be aware of work on the side of Route 2A at the James Brown Drive intersection that will detour pedestrians but not impact motorists.

    Lane Closures

    Motorists should be alert for stencil painting, mowing and bridge washing on the interstate and state roads. Please slow down in work zones.
