Public Meeting & Site Evaluation Update: June 6, 2018, 6:00-8:00pm (6:00pm Open House; 6:30pm Presentation)
Burlington Department of Public Works Conference Room, 645 Pine Street, Burlington

Please join us on Wednesday, June 6th at 6:00pm for an Open House and Presentation beginning at 6:30 pm to hear an update on the site evaluation for a future servicing and storage location for the Amtrak Ethan Allen train which is currently scheduled to begin service to Burlington in 2021 or 2022. A steering committee consisting of representatives from the City of Burlington, the State of Vermont, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, and project consultants VHB has been leading the evaluation. While Amtrak has technical and logistical requirements that need to be met, the steering committee has also considered important factors such as view, noise, property and right of way impacts.

Five sites in Burlington are currently being evaluated:

  • Northern Urban Reserve, North of Dog Park
  • Urban Reserve, North of Waterfront Park
  • Burlington Waterfront Train Station between King and College Streets
  • Vermont Rail System’s Burlington Railyard
  • Flynn Ave, adjacent to the new City Market
