Great Streets BTV Presentation
Wednesday, September 14, 2016
6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Contois Auditorium, City Hall, Burlington
The Great Streets Initiative is a culmination of many years of planning and project development, including the public vote in March of 2014 to use the City’s downtown TIF district to make new investments in the downtown’s public infrastructure to ensure that Burlington residents have a downtown that is a vibrant, walkable, and sustainable urban center. Led by Suisman Urban Design, a team of City officials and designers will build upon a myriad of previous plans developed with the residents of Burlington, including Imagine City Hall Park, planBTV Downtown and Waterfront, and the Transportation Plan to: Create standards for the design and construction of downtown streets; Develop a conceptual plan for Main Street (Battery to Union) and St. Paul Street (Main to Maple); Prepare plans for the reconstruction of Main Street from Church to Pine; and Advance concept plans for the reconstruction of City Hall Park.
These plans will be focused on improvements to the public right of way, including sidewalk details, street trees, stormwater improvements, transit details, lighting, and other improvements that impact the public streetscape.
Come join us for a presentation on Wednesday, September 14th from 6:30–8:00 p.m. at Contois Auditorium, City Hall.
If you cannot attend the presentation on Wednesday night, we’ll have two encore presentations on Thursday, September 15th at 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon, City Hall.
