Flood Recovery

The July 2023 flooding affected all 14 counties in Vermont, damaging property at a scale beyond that experienced in the last 100 years. Governor Scott requested a disaster declaration (July 13) and it was approved by President Biden (July 14) enabling federal resources to aid in the recovery. The CCRPC has compiled a list of flood disaster recovery resources. Please check back, as this webpage is being updated regularly.

  This resource is intended for local public officials dealing with damage to public infrastructure, state agencies, and critical private non-profits impacted by the catastrophic flooding.
• Vermont Department of Health Guidance »
  What to do before, during, and after a flood. Resources are available in many languages. Free drinking water test kits are available.
• Vermont Language Justice Project »
  The Vermont Language Justice Project has produced 50 different flood response video messages across 16 languages. These videos include information about drinking water, safely returning to a home that has been flooded, how gardens and farms can be contaminated by flood water, and scams purporting to provide emergency relief.
