The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission is working with VHB to develop a comprehensive and implementation-ready Regional Safety Action Plan (RSAP) for Chittenden County. The objective of the RSAP is to develop a proactive and integrated approach to enhance regional roadway safety by identifying innovative and measurable proven safety solutions in the form of projects, initiatives, practices, programs, policies, campaigns, and technologies to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes for all road users that offer the greatest benefits to public safety.
The RSAP will be built through data-driven analysis and robust public engagement including specific outreach to underserved populations. This ready-to-implement RSAP should meet all the requirements of a safety action plan required by the Safe Streets for All 2022 (SS4A) grant program and enable the CCRPC and member agencies to compete for implementation funding under this program.
