Please join the project team for an open house at City Hall! Members of the public are encouraged to attend to learn more about the project and share ideas for a multimodal Main Street. CCRPC is working with the City of Burlington and consultant VHB to conduct a scoping study of Main Street that will identify alternatives for contiguous multimodal transportation between the Burlington Waterfront and the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over I-89 at Exit 14. The study will also review signalized intersections along the corridor for associated improvements and specifically evaluate alternatives for the Jughandle intersection that connects Main Street (US 2) to East Avenue and Spear Street. This study will build on the designs that are currently taking shape for the segment of Main Street between Battery Street and Union Street (Great Streets Main Street Project).

PROJECT ADVISORY GROUP

The role of the Advisory Group is to represent a range of perspectives; review study materials and provide feedback; communicate with and provide updates to their organizations/constituents; and participate in developing the purpose and need statement, alternatives, and recommendations. Ultimately, the City Council will consider and endorse the final recommendations of the Study. Members of the public are welcome to attend Advisory Group meetings with the understanding that there will be limited opportunity for public input so that the Advisory Group can carry out their business. Meeting information will be posted here when scheduled.
