US-2/Clay Point Road Intersection Scoping Study
latest news
At their meeting on May 26, 2026, the Colchester Selectboard unanimously endorsed Alternative 3, a single lane modern roundabout, as their preferred alternative. This study is now complete.
Following recent crashes at the intersection, including two fatalities, the Town of Colchester requested the CCRPC conduct a scoping study of the US 2/Clay Point Road intersection. CCRPC hired Stantec to carry out this work and the study will build upon a CCRPC safety memo that offered potential solutions to improve intersection safety. This study will strive to achieve consensus on a recommended preferred alternative for remaking the intersection to increase safety for all users.
