Williston Road, Hotel, and Mary Street Intersection Scoping Study
latest news
The City of South Burlington anticipates substantial development over next 25 years, including possible increases in building heights up to 12 stories, with a housing target of adding 7,500 additional dwelling units to the existing 10,000 units. To support this, there is a need to shift to a more multimodal transportation system and support for infill development. Safe access for active transportation and transit on Williston Road is critical.
The City, in partnership with the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC), is conducting this study to assess intersection improvement options for Williston Road in the vicinity of Mary Street and the private hotel access drives to meet long-term multi-modal transportation needs, enable infill development and redevelopment in line with the City Center Form Based Code, and provide recommendations for access management in the vicinity and east of the intersection to White Street.
