City Center Parking Management Implementation Plan

latest news

Latest news and project updates will be posted here.

Mixed-use street-oriented development is underway in South Burlington’s City Center and the City currently has no parking management structure in place. A plan was completed in 2020 that conducted a parking inventory and made recommendations to foster shared parking in City Center. This study follows the initial parking management plan with a comprehensive parking inventory and occupancy counts and a range of possible parking management strategies to further investigate.

The study will provide the city with the data and means by which to estimate the demand for parking and a process that can be used over time and as the land uses and the land development occurs can be adapted to the changing conditions. This data will be used to inform conversations between the city and building owners on establishing a consistent and agreed upon management approach to vehicle parking in the City Center area.
